Increasing Revenue from your eCommerce Site

In doing our routine SEO site evaluations for one of our eCommerce clients , we decided to make slight changes in site design and the way products were displayed on the site. Part of the strategy was to use brand keywords in optimizing specific pages on the site with good traffic. Using in page analytics to strategically place logos of brands on the site and change the on page content of the site to have more brand keywords. Calls to actions were strategically placed on the site to improve overall time on site.

We added snippets of product descriptions to the category pages to improve content on each category page and made slight changes to improve the overall navigation on the site.

The Conversion rate for the site ( from January 1 to September 23, 2013 was 2.94%

After the changes were made, almost instantly the Conversion rate was up almost 20%. This resulted in 35% increase in revenue.

With the instant results from our work on, we applied similar strategies on October 1st, 2013 for another Ecommerce site: Below is a chart for the Conversion rate on the site ( before and after the changes were applied.


In the last 3 months after the changes were made on, the site has seen an increase of 144% in revenue when compared to the same time period in 2012. There was a 47% increase in unique purchases and a 32% increase in conversion rate.
