A recent ProStores version upgrade has unfortunately rendered all existing Profile templates obsolete. Until the template has been replaced with a copy from after the upgrade, your customers will not be able to change their address information, email, or password as they normally could through your website. The change requires that the customer enter their current password when making any updates so in order to keep your customers from getting an error message, you will need to replace the existing template with the new version.
First, login to your ProStores Administration Panel. Open the Store Design section in the lefthand navigation and click on the Page Template Manager. Make sure that the template set selected is the template set that is currently live on your site. Next, open the Customer Properties template, found under the Customer Service heading. When asked to set a baseline, make sure you do as you may need to revert. If you do not have a Customer Properties template and instead have a Customer Account template then you are already up to date as your store’s template set is newer than the change and already contains the new code. Assuming you did have a Customer Properties template and that you now have it open, you’re going to be replacing the code you see. Download this file, open it in your preferred text editor, and then copy and paste the contents over the existing code you see in the Page Template Manager. If you are comfortable with code changes on your site you may wish to change the default text or make some formatting adjustments, but if not it will work as-is. In either case, when you are ready click Save & Publish and the changes will be published to your live site.
Of course we’re available to make this change for you or to make adjustments to the new template if you aren’t happy with the out-0f-the-box appearance, but this article will hopefully give most merchants the information and step by step process needed to get up to date without incurring development costs.
