What is the BigCommerce Upgrade Package?
One of our most popular services we offer is the BigCommerce Upgrade Package. If you’re using the BigCommerce platform for your e-commerce store and would like to make your site stand out from the rest then our upgrade package is a great starting point.
Our standard upgrade package buys you 10 hours of work; what we do with this time is up to you. Unlike other companies, you will communicate directly with one of our designer/developers so that the work can be discussed clearly and completed efficiently. If you have a list of items you would like to complete and just need someone to do it, then we’ll get it done for you. If you would like us take the reins and use our design and development expertise to beautify your site then we can do that too. If you want a little bit of both, then we can work from your list as well as offer our wisdom.
Don’t judge a website solely by its cover
When we upgrade your website you’re not just getting something that looks good. As we upgrade your website we follow all W3C standards with semantic code markup practices making sure your site doesn’t throw any validation errors that could be harmful to your search engine page ranking. Just because it looks good doesn’t mean it works well, so we put a lot of effort into making sure your site performs well. As we work on your site you will also hear some suggestions that we’ve discovered and researched to help increase your website’s usability and conversion capabilities.
A few BigCommerce Upgrade examples
Here is a before and after screen shot of a recent website that went through our BigCommerce Upgrade Package. As you can see, the site was cluttered, there wasn’t much indication of what products they sold, the shopping cart was a little difficult to locate, and their side menu revealed every sub page causing this panel to be quite large.
Below is home page screenshot of the updates we made. As you can see, the clutter has been removed, there is a clear indication that this is an online store, and you can now clearly see that they specialize in automotive lifts and equipment. The shopping cart link is easy to locate with an added icon, which allows customers to more easily purchase products from their store. We had discussed a solution for the side menu and decided to add a custom drop down function for the menu items that have subcategories. This cleaned up the side menu and added user-friendly functionality to their site.
Below you will see the before screen shot of another website we worked on. As you can see, this is very clean and simple but there isn’t any call to action to entice the customer to buy, just some pretty pictures to look at. The shopping cart is just a small link at the top, there isn’t much indication as to what kind of apparel they sell, and there aren’t any products on the home page.
As you can see in the changes below, there is much more for the user to click through and browse on the home page; capturing their attention and directing them to begin shopping. There are products on the home page, the view cart link stands out, and the images give the visitor a sense of the style that is being sold.
These are just a couple examples of how we worked with our customers to discover what their website needed to look and perform better.
