**NOTE: As of July 2014, we are no longer working on the ProStores platform. Please contact us if you would like to migrate your store to BigCommerce.**

Accept Payments In Your Local Currency! This one was a surprise to even us! For years we heard from the developers that the only way to accept payment in anything other than US Dollars with a ProStores site was to use the less-than-perfect WorldPay service. For those of you that aren’t aware, WorldPay works much like PayPal Stardard in ProStores. Your customer picks their items, goes through the normal checkout steps, but then leaves your Ecommerce site to pay at a third party payment service.

Traditionally this has been the only way an Ecommerce or any site could accept payments in Pounds, Euros, etc. We work with the Royal Bank of Scotland as a partner and in our discussions with them we were informed that Authorize.net, when set up correctly, could definitely be used to process payments in currencies other than US Dollars. As if on cue we had a merchant that hosts with us, Daydream Education UK, that was looking to replace WorldPay just as we were ready to test this new information. The merchant’s bank setup the Authorize.net account, ensured it was set to process in GBP, we plugged the account credentials into ProStores and presto! The site is now successfully accepting payments in their preferred currency, using ProStores, without needing to send customers off-site to finish their orders.
